I was wondering if Strike as One is implemented into any builds, pve or pvp. The only use I got from it was going para primary. I personally don't understand why it is an elite skill, with onlly +5-9 dmg for you and your pet for the next 5 attacks. Or do you have to pump marksmanship and beast mastery high to get the full effect? I've been trying this with about 10 to 11 BM and marks 13+

I thought that when Never Rampage Alone came out, Strike as One might actually have some use, but then I remembered that it only works on the next 5 attacks. The skill is really weak and not worth an elite slot regardless of PvE or PvP. If you have a pet and want to do damage, take Enraged Lunge.

For 3...13 seconds, both you and your animal companion attack 33% faster and run 25% faster.

I don't remember RaO being based on attacks, is it a new update?

this topic is about [skill]Strike as One[/skill] and not RaO, RaO was just mentioned in comparison why SaO is bad.

I made an archer, wanting to hit the 3 digits. So I tried strike as one: the damage bonus is so small... even when combining RtW with this you end up with 2 skills which basically give the same bonus as glass arrows.

If you're an archer, use glass arrows to boost damage
If you're a beastmaster, take enraged lunge

No, it was a typo. I meant Never Rampage Alone, not Rampage as One.

It is 5 attacks each, Marverick, if all goes well it is 2 x 5 x 10 = 100 every 10 seconds. Not good enough really, Glass Arrows gives (almost) as much on only the bow and Enraged Lunge is almost double damage (80 every 5 seconds). The only thing I see to favor it over EL is that it doesn't take 3 extra recharging BM skills.

if you add it to RtW and needling shot at 16 marks and 12 BM you get a whoopin 50 dmg per needling shot:P

Having to lug around a pet just for the damage bonus is kind of pointless.
Read the wind does more damage for bow using rangers and if you are using a pet there's more useful elites such as Heal as one.

The problem with Strike as one is it requires three conditions:
-you have a pet
-you have a weapon yourself
-both of you hit

Strike as one feels like a weaker version of signet of strength...which is ironic because it's elite and signet of strength already completely sucks...

Something is very wrong with your feelings then, signet of strength adds +5 to a dozen of your attacks and has a recharge of 45 seconds, so, eh, at most 1.5 HP/sec. Strike as one adds 10 times (combined 2 x 5) +10 on a recharge of 10 seconds, that's about 10 HP/sec. Please explain how a 10 DPS skill is weaker then one with 1.5 DPS.

well you need a bow, you need a pet, you need to be able to keep your pet alive and the fact its an elite? so thats like 3 skills used up.. with a worthless elite... might as well bring heal as one.... <_<

Strike as One is a weak skill for a few reasons:

It adds to your weapon damage and your pet damage, but investing heavily in both is difficult.

It adds less damage than expected, since a pet won't get off 5 attacks anyway in 10 seconds, unless you are lucky and your foe is standing still.

It's a bit buggy, in that re-application of it before the 5 attacks are used doesn't refresh the timer, so if you pet has only attacked 4 times and you use it you pet doesn't gain 5 more, it stays with 1 attack left.

Stirke as One is a pure damage skill; it has no utility, so it has to crank out damage to be equivalent to other skills. As it is Beastmastery is weaker than most attack lines when it comes to damage, so it really needs to be pretty impressive to make investment in BM worthwhile. It is half as effective as Enraged Lunge, which right away makes it pretty lousy.

Off course you need a pet for this skill, that would be obvious, so his post was completely useless.

Having to bring a pet - and the relevant healing/rez skills - is rather normal for any build that utilizes a pet. That can not be an argument to classify this skill as worthless any more as any other pet related skill, like Rampage as One or Enraged Lunge.
